NAPLES WATERFRONT PROPERTY

The owners of this waterfront residence in Naples, Florida hired Lindy Thomas long before the initial construction phase. Designed for an ambassador and his wife with an affinity for Spain and Latin America. Their vision of a contemporary house with a Latin flair was interpreted through the architecture and interior design.

Result:
Lindy Thomas Interiors used texture and a color palette of simple, rich tones of earth and sky to create a sophisticated blend of contemporary simplicity with relaxed comfort. The interiors accomplish a modern estate aesthetic allowing the natural light and setting to communicate an attitude of calm and tranquility.

The Design Process:
This expansive home is set on a prominent point of Naples Bay with unspoiled views of a mangrove preserve. An interesting challenge of the design process was to seamlessly blend the exterior views and spaces with the interior design. The traditional Latin attitude is to view the terraces as an extension of the inside of the home. The owners wanted the dwelling to be constructed of natural materials with a solid quality and the furnishings to reflect a coalescing of new with cherished family heirlooms. The interior design also needed to integrate the owner's art, collected from their visits to Latin America. To echo the style, much of the new furniture was manufactured in Latin America. A wall-sized painting from Mexico in the living room dictated the size of the space and influenced the color scheme. The entire house reflects their taste, style and love of art.
